You're working o your college admission application and you know you need a GREAT essay but essays aren't exactly your thing so you need help! Where should you turn?

Ask a teacher
Many times, students want
to ask their teacher to review their ideas.
This is a natural choice. However,
the fact is, everyone asks the
teacher. Does he or she have time to
read your essay before the due date? How
many might be in front of yours? Does
this teacher have a life outside of school?
You may have to wait too long to be considered for early decision. This matters because once a school offers
early decision to students, any students who submit their application later
have to wait and see if anyone declines their admission before being accepted.

Ask a friend/parent
This is also a natural
choice. If you have a friend or parent
that is especially good at writing, this would be a great choice! However, many times our friends and parents
tell us what we want to hear – that the essay is good and has many great
ideas. This may or may not be true. Have you read this post about what makes a
